Hi and welcome to “anniebakes”.  I’m so glad you stopped by to visit.  My name is Anne and I am the writer/cook/amateur photographer of this site.  I live in the beautiful woods of northern Wisconsin with my husband “Hubby” and two teenage sons, “Oldest” and “Youngest”. The name “anniebakes” was given to me by 2 of my cousins. When I was young I was really hooked on my Easy Bake oven and my maiden name was Baker-thus the nick-name of “annie bakes”. Many years later, it is still an appropriate and fitting title to this site.

I started this blog in 2009 as a way to share recipes and to meet new people with my same interest.  I always loved collecting recipes and cookbooks so it seemed a natural thing to start a food blog.  Who knew then that hundreds of recipes later, I would love this”outlet” so much!

I have a degree in Communication with a minor in journalism,  I love “conversational” writing and love sharing things with others.  I do my own photography (for better or worse) using my trusty Canon Rebel TXi and a light box for the long, dark winter months.

In my “spare” time, my husband and I own and run several businesses and I write the food column for our local newspaper, based on my blog.
