Cucumber Yogurt Dip

I am not Greek. Hubby is Lithuanian (which is pretty close to Greek) and we love gyros! I was making them the other day and couldn’t remember my recipe for tzasiki sauce and my internet was down. So I threw some things together and we loved it. In fact, we liked it so much, I skipped the gyros and just used it as a dip with pita chips…

Cucumber Yogurt Dip

Ingredients:

1 cup plain non fat Greek yogurt
1/2 cup crumbled feta (used the flavored varieties if you like)
1/2 English cucumber-diced very fine
1/2 green onion-finely diced
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste (I found I needed more after letting it sit)

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a medium mixing bowl. Refrigerate at least 1 hour to let the flavors blend. Serve on gyros or as a dip with chips, pita chips or anything else you have on hand

Annie this looks yummy! I have never made gyros, but have eaten them. I think I would like the dip with the pita chips better than with the gyros. Joni
