Patty Melts
On one of those nights where you can’t get out to the grill, this is a great meal to make on an indoor grill or even a George Foreman grill…

Patty Melts
Ingredients:
3 medium onions, sliced
1 teaspoon canola oil
salt and pepper, to taste
1 pound ground beef (or turkey or chicken)
2 teaspons Dijon mustard
2 cloves garlic-minced
1 teaspoon Herbes de Provence
8 sliced rye bread-toasted
4 slices cheese-Provolone or SwissDirections:
In a large nonstick skillet, saute onions in oil on medium high heat for about 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, reduce heat, cover and let simmer for 35-45 minutes or until the onions are tender.
Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, combine the beef (or turkey or chicken), Dijon mustard, garlic and Herbes de Provence, adding salt and pepper to taste, mix until just combine, but don't overmix. Shape into 4 oval patties.
Grill the patties until desired doneness. Place each patty on a piece of rye bread, top with the onions and cheese and another slice of bread.
**I added thousand Island dressing to mine and it was to die for!!

My youngest recently discovered Patty Melts and they are his #1 food right now. I love mine with rye bread as well, but I never added Herbes de Provence….can’t wait to try it
