I make a ton of Mexican food around here! One of the things that I had been put off by was the processed taste of your standard seasoning packets. A while back I began to play around with different recipes to make my own seasoning, and frankly most of the ingredients are always in my pantry so it was a no-brainer! Taco Seasoning-DIY

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons black pepper

Directions:

Mix all the ingredients together and store in an airtight container. Use 3 tablespoons mixture plus 3/4 cup water add to your browned meat, mix and simmer for 10 minutes.

    Definitely am going to have to try this! I agree that some of these packaged ones don’t taste that great.

      It’s got to be the preservatives in the others!

    This looks perfect, Anne. I need to follow some sort of measurements instead of my pour in the palm and dump method. This will be a delicious formula from which to start! Thank you :)
