Cheesy Beer Bread

So the other day I had a brisket in the crock pot (more on that recipe later) and was catching up on my food blog reading and ran across this recipe by Julie at Mommie Cooks! and just knew that this would be the perfect accompaniment to my brisket.  And guess what, I was right and this is so easy….

Cheesy Beer Bread

6 ounces beer
4 tablespoons melted butter
1 egg
2-1/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup Pepper Jack cheese-shredded

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Mix together the beer, butter and egg in a mixer.  Ina separate bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cayenne and salt.  Using a dough hook on your mixer, add the dry ingredients to the wet and form into a dough.  The dough will be a touch sticky.  Add in the cheese and spin until mixed.  Put into a greased bread pan and bake for 55-60minutes.

**This recipe comes from my second attempt making this recipe, so the ingredient amounts will differ slightly from Julie’s original to fit my own liking.  Thanks Jules!!
