Game Day Mostaccioli-Tomato Bowl
This is SOOOO good, I didn’t even get the picture taken before it was eaten up by the Family. This would be a good addition to your Game Day Table and would be good and hearty and warm if you are watching from Wisconsin where it is suppose to be downright cold, but what else is new…
Game Day Baked Mostaccioli
INGREDIENTS:
8 ounces uncooked mostaccioli
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1 can (28 ounces) diced Red Gold Tomatoes
1 jar (8 ounces) pizza sauce
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 bay leaf
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
DIRECTIONS:
Cook noodles according to package; drain and set aside. In a large saucepan, cook the beef, onion and garlic over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in the tomatoes, tomato sauce and paste, water, salt, sugar, basil, pepper and bay leaf. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Discard bay leaf, stir in noodles. Spoon 1/2 into a 9 x 13 baking dish. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese; layer with remaining meat mixture. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, remove foil and bake another 10-15 minutes. Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.

One more day until the Pack takes home the trophy! Go Pack Go!
We make and enjoy mostaciolli quite often, but I've never prepared it by baking it. With all that cheese, I know we'd just love it! Boy, I wish I could have been at your house for game day!
