The name says it all, there’s not much more to it than Crockpot–Pork–Roast! Some of the recipes that I like the best have few, but choice ingredients and this is one of those that I threw together one day a few years ago and I always seem to come back to it in a pinch!
Crockpot Pork Roast
INGREDIENTS:
1 pork roast-of any size
1 large onion-diced
1 pound mushrooms-sliced
2 cups apple cider
1 cup water
salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
Place the roast in the crockpot and season liberally with salt and pepper. Then add the onions and mushrooms and cover with the apple cider and water. Put the lid on the pot and cook on low for 8-9 hours. Or on high 3-4 hours.
I tend to like the cooking low and slow–I don’t think the meat dried out as much!

This sounds really good and the addition of the apple cider is something I have never tried. Well, I so happen to have a very lonely roast out in the freezer, so I think I'll grab an onion and some mushrooms to keep him company
Thank you for the recipe!
This sounds like a perfect meal to come home to on a crisp fall day. Will definitely try this one! What do you serve it with?

I like the use of apple cider. I will have to give this a try. Thanks for the crock-pot recipe ;o)
Sounds yummy! I've never put apple cider in the crock pot with roast, so I can't wait to give it try!

Hi,
I tried this for dinner tonight and wasn’t overly impressed. The pork was really tender and not dried out, but it seemed very bland. I used apple juice instead of cider, so that may have something to do with it, but I’m not sure what to change for next time?
