What’s better than ice cream on a hot summer day?? HOMEMADE ice cream!! You do have to have an ice cream maker, but it is so worth the money, we almost never buy store bought ice cream anymore, and if I make just vanilla, anyone can add whatever they want to it. But I confess that we usually add OREO cookies…
Homemade Oreo Cookie Ice Cream
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1 1/8 cups granulated sugar
3 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
12 OREO cookies-crushed
DIRECTIONS:
Follow the directions given by the manufacturer. I like to add the OREO’s after the ice cream has set up for a while in the freezer and have found that the it’s easier to eat if the cookies have sat out for a while so they are softer.

You save my day! One of my student will celebrate her birthday tomorrow, and she asked me if we could do an activity like baking using oreo cookies. With this weather, I think that would be difficult. Although I bought the oreo already, and you're just in a rescue. We will do this tomorrow, many thanks!

we have a 3 day rule on ice cream in my house, my wife would keep ice cream until the ice crystal were so heavy….i on the other hand get ice cream to eat it, so she has 3 days to have some after I buy it….lol…..I don't get Ice cream often because I will eat it all….sigh…..but I may just have to run out and get some cookies and cream!!
