Baked Bacon
Let’s see a raise of hands from the bacon lovers out there….My hand is fully raised (and it makes it hard to type). I went through a stage of dissing the bacon; couldn’t stand the messy pan, couldn’t stand the messy grease splattered stove, couldn’t stand the smell-am I forgetting anything??
Then I found Microwave bacon and thought I had died and gone to heaven! BLT’s-no problem, bacon and eggs-no problem, bacon on a salad-no problem. But now, now I have found baked bacon and it’s as easy as it sounds! No messy pan, no messy grease splattered stove, although I will admit a strong effervesance of bacon smell. I’m not sure where I actually got the idea from (but pretty sure I couldn’t have possibly made it up) but it has brought new life to bacon for us (the microwave kind does seem flat after trying this). It’s so EASY, follow me…
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Put a baking rack on top of a baking sheet (I cover it with aluminum foil to catch the grease). Then lay out the bacon and bake for 20-30 minutes (I turn the rack half way through) and you get perfect bacon every time!

I also LOVE bacon. I don't like the mess it makes either, so I've always considered making it in the oven. It certainly sounds easy, enough? Does the grease spatter inside the oven at all?
Yes, I love bacon. I have been doing it in the oven for years. I work in a private club and that is how the chefs do it. It is easy!
I raised my hand really high, love that bacon! Never thought of doing it in the oven but, will try it for sure!
How do you like your kindle? I've been thinking about it and can't decide.
It's such a great trick, and so much easier than frying up a pound in a pan. Thanks for spreading the knowledge!

I am definitely going to try this!
I do this too – I bake the entire package at one time and then save the cooked strips in my fridge until I need them. The reheat just like the pre-cooked bacon strips you can buy, about 30-40 seconds in the microwave. Really yummy
